Pathways
Conservatory Attendance
Conservatory Class
Each Conservatory class functions as both technique training and, during performance season, rehearsal for the Winter Showcase. Dancers may miss up to 3 Conservatory classes per semester without penalty. After 3 absences, the dancer’s placement will be under review. If additional absences occur, a paid private lesson is required to catch up. If a dancer does not schedule a private, or continues to be behind, consequences may include: adjustments to role, spacing, or placement within the Winter Showcase; understudy replacement; removal from the piece. Continued absence may result in removal from sections of choreography or the showcase entirely. All absences must be communicated to the front desk by email. If last-minute, a phone call is also required.
All Other Required Classes (Academy Ballet, Pointe/Pre-Pointe, Barre, PBT, etc.)
Missing 3 of any one class type per semester places the dancer under Attendance Review. Missed classes must be made up in a timely manner. Ongoing absences may impact progression, level placement, and performance opportunities.
Mandatory Performance Window
The 2 weeks leading up to the Winter Showcase are mandatory for all Conservatory dancers. Absences may result in role or spacing adjustments or removal from sections of choreography. If a dancer is ill during a mandatory week, the studio must be notified by parent email and the dancer must join rehearsal via video link to observe and receive corrections in real time.
Summer Requirements
VIVA Intensive attendance is mandatory for all Conservatory dancers. Summer Block minimums will be communicated annually and are part of the pathway commitment.
